Take a licence >>> Comprehensive and detailed market analyses are at the beginning of every new development project. Before W2E formulates synergies with a first licence partner, a W2E concept study determines the first electrical and mechanical environment for the new technology. This concept study includes all principles important to W2E: modularity, system thinking and inter-platform technology development.
Development project
For the wind turbine platforms of W2E, solid experience in the area of variable-speed wind turbines is fundamental to all developments and represents a distinct advantage.
W2E increases the economy of its wind turbines through sophisticated solutions which drastically reduce the cost of production, erection and maintenance.
W2E works in close cooperation with partners in the industry that supplies machinery and wind turbine manufacturers. Through system thinking and system partnerships, W2E is able to quickly and sustainably develop and optimize systems and components which comply with wind-specific requirements and are suitable for the industry.
With a broadly based but slim corporate structure, W2E can call upon its versatile, highly qualified portfolio of knowledge and experience in designing development processes creatively and effectively.
While a wind turbine is developed, you may purchase licences for a specific wind turbine technology in the concept phase, in the design phase or during production. W2E always begins a new development in cooperation with a licensee partner.
W2E uses standardized processes for the development of wind turbines. However, W2E performs the major portion of the entire wind turbine development in-house. All specifications, processes and results are comprehensively documented by means of structured working procedures and professional tools.

Backup system

- can also be operated at low temperatures
Similar to condensers, these accumulators can deliver and accept very high currencies, even at low temperatures. For that reason there are no contactors in the pitch system which would have to be switched in case of a power failure. Brake choppers and accumulator loading units are unnecessary.
Under this system, recognition of the so-called Fault Right Through (FRT) voltage drop according to Transmission Code 2007, the BDEW Medium-Voltage Power Grid and other grid codes is not required.
If needed, the accumulator can also be replaced by high-performance condensers without further modifications. This means that the wind turbine can be operated according to market requirements.
Plug&Play concept
THE PLUG&PLAY CONCEPT >>> is a central development criterion. It is feasibility-tested and implemented for all systems and components.
- Plugged electrical connections throughout the wind turbine
- The drive train was developed in such a way that installers have access to all subsystems of the drive train structure and that in case of maintenance or replacement, only the affected parts must be moved.
- Pluggable slip ring
