Compliance with certain guidelines and standards for products or services, such as the EC Machinery Directive, or the Guidelines of the Germanischer Lloyd for wind turbines are tested and certified. The certificates refer to specific standards and to specific products or services. Certification is a prerequisite for introducing products in the market quickly and effectively, and for developing serial production.. Certificates are a basic requirement for financing and insuring wind turbines.
At W2E, certification is acquired from accredited institutes.
For certification, the independent institute which provides the certificates is given extensive material consisting of model concepts, design documents, technical calculations and simulation results.
All mechanical, electrical and safety technology systems and components, the overall behaviour of the wind turbine in the wind and on the grid, the comprehensive qualified documentation and the start-up processes are tested in detail in terms of reliability and safety.
In preparation, load cases are calculated, FEM and multi-body simulation and drive train analyses are performed. The individual developmental stages of the wind turbine are completed by:
W2E works with TÜV Nord as the recognized body for type testing, Germanischer Lloyd (GL) and the DEWI OCC as independent certifying bodies.
W2E develops wind turbines according to the EC Machinery Directive
The following other standards and guidelines are applied:

2.5 MW WIND TURBINE MODEL FOR YOU AT HOME >>> The 2.5 MW wind turbine for your home >>> You can build your cardboard model at home with hobby knife, scissors, ruler, pincers, glue and feeling- That works as easy as:
The model is for a 2.5 MW W100 wind turbine with a nacelle height of 160 m (scale of 1:500). The rotor can be turned.
The original on which the model is based has a rotor diameter of 90 m and was erected in 2006 as the prototype for the 2.5 MW wind turbine platform in Laasow (State of Brandenburg, Germany). It is the highest wind turbine in the world.
