This product is the most versatile wind turbine family ever developed. It has a rotor diameter of 80 m, 90 m and 100 m that forms a swept area for wind classes 1a, 2a and 3a according to IEC 61400. Towers from 65 m to 160 m in height provide optimal combinations of rotor and nacelle height for any terrain.
This diversity of rotors and wind classes is accomplished with an identical machine platform. Therefore, procurement, installation and logistics are simple for all the tower versions.
In addition to the standard wind turbines W90 and W80, the W100 version is offered internationally for licensing. Fuhrländer AG> is the first licensee and licence distributor.
160 M LATTICE TOWER >>> The nacelle of the prototypes of the 2.5 MW wind turbine with a rotor diameter of 90 m was erected on a lattice tower 160 m in height. The overall height of the structure is 205 m.
The project was built in Laasow near Cottbus (in the State of Brandenburg, Germany) in cooperation with Fuhrländer AG as licensee and manufacturer of the nacelle, and SeeBa Energiesysteme GmbH as manufacturer of the lattice tower.
REPLACEMENT OF MAIN COMPONENTS WITHOUT MOBILE CRANE >>> Should a heavy machine component, such as a rotor blade, rotor bearing, main gearbox, transformer or switch gears fail, 2.5 MW wind energy plants by W2E DO NOT require a mobile crane. For the 2.5 MW wind turbines, a movable crane system can be utilized as an alternative to a mobile crane when large components must be replaced.
The standard is that the wind turbine has traverse cranes in the nacelle. The associated crane is easy to transport and can be stored for single use together with the winch at the respective service base. The movable crane is pulled by its own winch to nacelle height and completely assembled. A divisible ground frame allows for the lowering of heavy loads up to 25 tonnes. It means lower costs in case of damage, which also lowers the cost of insurance premiums for the operator.
The use of this crane system is of particular economic interest in case of towers above 100 m.

2.5 MW WIND TURBINE MODEL FOR YOU AT HOME >>> The 2.5 MW wind turbine for your home >>> You can build your cardboard model at home with hobby knife, scissors, ruler, pincers, glue and feeling- That works as easy as:
The model is for a 2.5 MW W100 wind turbine with a nacelle height of 160 m (scale of 1:500). The rotor can be turned.
The original on which the model is based has a rotor diameter of 90 m and was erected in 2006 as the prototype for the 2.5 MW wind turbine platform in Laasow (State of Brandenburg, Germany). It is the highest wind turbine in the world.
